| Picture archive |

| The picture archive contains about 125,000 negatives, photographs,
slides and postcards. The biggest theme categories are streets and landscapes
in Porvoo, old villages in the surrounding area, industry, persons, schools,
events and art. Chronologically, the pictures span the period from the 1840s
(daguerreotypes) to present-day photographs, but the early decades of the
20th century are especially well represented. |
