The Porvoo Museum historical archive contains mostly documents from the 1700s and 1800s. The oldest documents in the collection are from the 1500s. Documents about the industrial life in Porvoo concern trade, seafaring and manufacturing. The crafts archive contains documents of guilds and other professional bodies beginning at the end of the 1600s, as well as the archive of the association for crafts and factories. The archive also includes maps and drawings, among them a broad collection of boat blueprints from the Wilenius shipyard.
The Porvoo Museum archive also contains many documents about old estates and people. There are also archives of different communities, such as the archives for the Porvoo women entrepreneur’s association, Porvoo art association and the Porvoo temperance association. The music collection includes for example the photographs, notes and recordings of the 1990s youth musicals “Dajju Biznis” and “Pepe’s Place”.
