Archaeology in Porvoo Museum

ArkeologiaPorvoonMuseossa

As an expert the archaeologist of the Museum with regional responsibility in Eastern Uusimaa issues statements related to archaeological cultural heritage on plans about land use, construction and projects that alter the landscape.

The archaeologist gives guidance on land use projects that take place on or near the area of a relic or any other kind of cultural heritage site. It is important to contact the archaeologist as soon as possible during the planning stages of the project. Objects that are over 100 years old found in the ground must be reported to the museum authorities. The primary method of reporting is via the reporting service of the Finnish Heritage Agency, but it is also possible to report the object through the archaeologist of the Porvoo Museum. https://www.kyppi.fi/palveluikkuna/ilmoitus/edit/asp/default.a
